The GI Joe

The GI JOE(s) : WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

We created Pro vs. GI Joe for our American troops and their families. They serve us so we connect them with professional athletes to serve and honor them. There are troops serving in 135 countries all over the world, in places we can’t pronounce and amid danger few can comprehend. Through Pro vs. GI Joe, we aim to give ‘em a break by "DOIN' A LITTLE FOR THOSE WHO DO A LOT".

To date, we've brought Pro vs. GI Joe events to troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Dubai, Qatar, Korea, Japan, Germany, Cuba, Italy and to those serving here at home.

We try our very best to match the pros with hometown troops forward deployed. It's easier said than done so when that isn't possible, we do our best to match our troops up with their favorite pro or team.  For example, if we're having an event with the Green Bay Packers, we will work with the USO and with the various military installations to identify Wisconsin-based troops or some of the Green Bay Packers' biggest fans. We do this so we can invite your friends and family to the event and to involve the troop's local community as much as possible. Additionally, at nearly every event, we invite between 25-50 troops to attend in-person and everyone typically walks away with pictures, autographs, prizes, giveaways and experiences they'll never forget.

Pro vs. GI Joe goes where the internet allows us to go! Working in conjunction with the USO, we've conducted events with troops in these countries:

USO Warrior Center in Germany

USO Camp Virginia Kuwait

USO Kadena Japan

USO Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Guantanamo Bay, Cuba

And though we haven't been able to play online with troops in Iraq, we've arranged for troops stationed in Iraq to travel to Kuwait, where they play from the USO at Camp Virginia. We are working with the USO to make this available in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2009!

In addition to playing overseas, we also invite troops stateside to attend and participate in our events! We incorporate as many troops as we possibly can, dependent on circumstances surrounding each competition.
