Rehabbing with the Troops
In 2010 Pro
vs. GI Joe created “Rehabbing with the Troops” (RWTT), a program that recruits
professional athletes to train alongside, and often customize intense workouts
for, wounded veterans as part of their on-going rehabilitation and recovery.
RWTT consists of seasons, with each lasting up to 6 weeks, and includes wounded
veterans from all over the country. The goal is to create a community, online
and otherwise, in which our warriors find common ground and a mutual
understanding while working on both their physical rehabilitation and emotional
well-being.
The program demands hard work and commitment, and determination to a live a full life in spite of life-changing injuries. RWTT wounded warriors are from every branch of service and live all over the United States; many are medically retired from service, some are still undergoing treatment while others continue serving in the Reserve or National Guard.
RWTT trainers include MMA Hall of Famer, Tito Ortiz; the New Orleans Saints, Washington Redskins, San Diego Chargers, Denver Nuggets and Dallas Mavericks. To learn more, head over to www.woundedwarriorarena.org.
